Athletes

What is the likeliness of you getting joint pain, muscle pain, muscle spasm or just getting hurt? Injury is something that happens to everyone and there is little doubt that it will happen to you at some point in your lifetime. Something that could start as stiffness and may feel uncomfortable to you could be a warning signal that may identify a weaker area of your stability and addressed early on could enhance your performance and help you get the most out of your body.

Sport can be very physically demanding whether you are a beginner or a gold medallist, all athletes experience the many stresses and strains from training and competition at some point, many of which can result in injury. Being unable to train because of pain and injury can be traumatic and have a substantial effect on your wellbeing as well as your training programme. We want to help you train comfortably and if injured, help you return to your regular training regime as quickly and safely as possible. We have a vast amount of experience working with sportspeople of all types, from the 5k runners to the swimming gold medallist. We have a huge success rate in getting athletes back into training as efficiently as possible and keeping them injury free. Our team of highly qualified therapists take the time to understand your specific sport and the demands of your training schedule, to design a suitable treatment and homecare programme that will fit around your current regime and give you the freedom to enjoy your sport!

What we will do…

We will discuss your specific sport with you and any current symptoms you may have. A full history will be taken and a detailed report of any past injuries. This allows us to determine if your current symptoms correlate with any previous issues. We will then analyse your movement patterns. This allows us to pinpoint any deviations that may be contributing to your injury/discomforts. Special tests will rule out any structural damage including muscles, tendons, ligaments and joints. Any abnormalities will be addressed with a combination of treatments using various modalities such as clinical massage, electrotherapy, assisted stretching, dry needling etc; your session will be based on the outcome of your assessment; therefore each patient is treated individually. This will be collaborated with a strengthening programme that you can integrate into your current training programme. Our aim is to educate you on the condition that is presenting in your symptoms and give you a clear insight into how you may have sustained it plus, valuable information on how to avoid it happening again.

Do you want to reduce the risk for potential injuries and lower the possibility of showing your vulnerable points? Fortunately, identifying the problem involves few simple steps to monitor and influence fitness and wellbeing. By adapting a full sports therapy treatment programme, your potential will most certainly blossom, and your inner ability come to life. Contact us today to see how we can help you!
